US jails Bangladeshi American for killing citizen over property feud in Munshiganj
Dhaka, May 9 -- A US citizen of Bangladeshi origin has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the murder of his uncle, also a naturalised US citizen, in Bangladesh five years ago following a longstanding ancestral property dispute.
Assistant Attorney General A Tysen Duva of the US Justice Department's Criminal Division and US Attorney Jay Clayton for the Southern District of New York delivered the verdict on Thursday, according to the US Department of Justice.
The convict is 54-year-old Ganet Rozario, a resident of the northern New York City borough of the Bronx.
He previously pleaded guilty to one count of foreign murder of a US national in Munshiganj, according to the statement.
