Bangladesh, Sept. 12 -- Police have recovered the dismembered body of an unidentified man from three plastic sacks found beside a paddy field in Faridpur's Madhukhali Upazila.

The sacks were discovered near a palm tree by the side of a road in the Raipur's Boalia area around 10am on Saturday, said Masuduzzaman, assistant superintendent of police for the Madhukhali-Boalmari-Alfadanga Circle.

Police said local passers-by spotted the tied sacks about 200 yards from Boalia Stand, beside paddy fields along the road towards Faridpur.

They called the national emergency service on 999, prompting police to visit the scene.

Officers later confirmed that the sacks contained the remains of a man believed to be around 40 years old.
