Dhaka, June 19 -- Britain has proposed cooperation with Bangladesh in technical education and training, while also signalling stronger trade and investment ties with the country.

British High Commissioner in Dhaka Sarah Cook made the proposal during a meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at his office in the parliament complex on Thursday.

She also expressed hope that relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom would deepen further under the current government.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, discussions also covered ways to expand bilateral trade and increase British investment in Bangladesh, which is expected to create new employment opportunities.
