Dhaka, April 23 -- A fatal soil collapse at a Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) construction site in Chattogram has left two workers dead and two others injured.

The incident took place at 4am on Thursday while excavation work was under way near Singapore-Bangkok Market for pipeline installation.

Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel later recovered the victims from the site and rushed them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared two of them dead.

The dead have been identified only as Rakib and Tushar, the latter hailing from Dinajpur, though further details of their identities are yet to be confirmed.
