Dhaka, Sept. 21 -- US President Donald Trump is set to meet New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani at Gracie Mansion during his visit for the UN General Assembly, The New York Times reports, citing the mayor's office.

A spokeswoman for the mayor confirmed that the discussions, scheduled for Monday, will "focus on issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers".

The engagement marks the president's first visit to Mamdani's home turf, following two previous meetings in Washington that forged an unexpectedly cordial relationship between the ideological adversaries.
