Dhaka, March 15 -- A college student, who was also a popular social media content creator, has been hacked and shot dead by a group of unidentified assailants at the Central Shaheed Minar.
The victim, 25-year-old Rakib Ahmed, was a second-year BA student at Shaikh Burhanuddin College.
He was the son of Torikul Islam Khokon, a staff member at Dhaka University's Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall.
The incident occurred around 9:15pm, according to Shahbagh Police Station.
Police citing witnesses said Rakib was hanging out with friends at the monument when the attack took place.
