Dhaka, Aug. 10 -- Three people have been killed and two others injured after a passenger bus and a pickup van collided head-on in Habiganj's Nabiganj Upazila.

The accident occurred on Monday morning at Rokonpur in Paniumda Union along the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway, said Sherpur Highway Police Sub-Inspector Md Jasim Uddin.

One person died at the scene, while two others died later at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, the police officer said.

The victims were identified as vegetable trader Mashhud Ahmed, 40, from Karikhana village in Dighalbak Union; Abul Kashem, 50, from Inatganj South village; and Moyna Mia, 30, an employee of Fahim Vegetable Store in Inatganj Bazaar.
