Dhaka, Sept. 18 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested two members of an alleged fraud ring accused of swindling a man out of Tk 9.42 million through a fake job offer on Telegram.

The victim was first approached with what appeared to be a job offer from a jewellery company before being directed through a phishing link to a fake website, according to the agency.

There, he was offered commissions for completing online orders and later encouraged to invest money with promises of higher returns.

The arrestees are Md Julhas Uddin, 39, of Dampara in Nikli Upazila of Kishoreganj, and Prahor, 28, of Gundhar in Karimganj Upazila.
