Tarique urges vigilance against groups opposing BNP government's tenure
Dhaka, June 17 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged people to remain vigilant against those who say the government "should not be given time" to work, arguing that such calls are driven by their own interests.
Speaking at a rally at Moulvibazar Government High School ground on Wednesday afternoon, he said the public had given the BNP a mandate to govern for five years and implement its election promises.
"Then we must ask: those who speak against the people's verdict, what are they doing? The people have given the BNP five years. So when some people say the BNP should not be given time, what should be done about them? People must stay alert against them," Tarique said.
