Bangladesh, Aug. 18 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called for a "strong revenue system" to help build a prosperous Bangladesh, stressing the need for patriotism and sincerity in revenue management.

Inaugurating the Revenue Conference 2026 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka on Tuesday, Tarique urged officials and other stakeholders to work together to build a robust revenue system.

He expressed hope that the conference would help shape a revenue management framework that encourages greater investment and creates a more business-friendly environment.

Turning to revenue collection targets, the prime minister said collections had shown a positive trend from mid-February through the end of June.
