Dhaka, March 30 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has held a private meeting with Leader of the Opposition Shafiqur Rahman at the parliament.

The meeting took place in the prime minister's office following the funeral prayers for Dilara Hafiz, wife of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, which held at the South Plaza of the parliament in the afternoon.

Atiqur Rahman Rumon, assistant press secretary to the prime minister, told bdnews24.com that the meeting lasted for 17 to 18 minutes.

"Afterwards, the prime minister escorted the opposition leader back to his own office," Rumon said.
