Dhaka, June 15 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed authorities to "very quickly" relocate four intercity bus terminals outside Dhaka.

The instruction came at a meeting on mitigating Dhaka's traffic congestion and modernising its traffic management held on Monday at the Secretariat, according to Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Mostafa Zulfiquar Hasan, well known as Hasan Shiplu.

"The prime minister has instructed the relocation of four intercity bus terminals outside Dhaka without delay to ease traffic congestion," Shiplu said.

The four intercity bus terminals are -- Phulbaria-Gulistan Bus Terminal, Gabtoli Bus Terminal, Mohakhali Bus Terminal and Sayedabad-Jatrabari Bus Terminal.
