Bangladesh, Aug. 3 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has issued three directives to boost solar power generation and tackle Bangladesh's energy crisis.

His Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu announced the directives after a solar power meeting at the Secretariat on Monday.

He said, "The prime minister has issued three important directives to tackle the energy crisis and expand renewable energy use.

"These are the phased installation of solar panels at key government buildings; government support for importing raw materials used to produce solar inverters; and an effective economic model to make solar power affordable, accessible and profitable for ordinary people."
