Dhaka, June 26 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has left Beijing for Dhaka, wrapping up a six-day state visit that took him to Malaysia and China.

He departed on a China Southern flight from Beijing Daxing International Airport at 5pm local time on Friday, his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman said.

The direct Beijing-Dhaka flight typically takes around five hours, meaning Tarique is expected to land at 8pm Bangladesh time or shortly after.

Tarique and his wife Zubaida Rahman were seen off by Chinese president's special envoy Yue Xiaoyong and given a farewell guard of honour by a smartly turned-out military contingent before walking the red carpet to board the flight.
