Tarique honours China's revolutionary heroes at Tiananmen Square memorial
Dhaka, June 26 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has laid a wreath at the Monument to the People's Heroes at Tiananmen Square on the final day of his state visit to China.
He placed the floral tribute at 9:15am local time on Friday at the iconic stone obelisk, which stands at the centre of the vast square in the heart of Beijing and commemorates those who died in the revolutionary struggles that led to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
The national anthems of both countries were played and a bugle sounded as Tarique stood in silence to pay his respects to China's revolutionary heroes.
