Dhaka, Sept. 24 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has met his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenkovic in New York, with the two leaders discussing closer economic ties, trade and investment, and opportunities for skilled Bangladeshi workers.

The meeting took place at the United Nations headquarters on Wednesday afternoon, local time, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen relations between Bangladesh and Croatia and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

They identified trade and investment, skilled manpower, education and technology among areas with scope for greater cooperation.
