Dhaka, Nov. 6 -- Jerika Tasnim Disha, arrested in a murder case following the recovery of former Air Force officer Tahsif Sauri's body, has been sent to jail after completing two rounds of remand.

Investigators told the court that Disha had provided important information during questioning.

Investigating officer Firoz Uddin, an inspector at the Tongi River Police Outpost, produced Disha before the court on Friday after the two rounds of remand and sought an order to keep her in jail.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Islam Junaid ordered that she be sent to jail.

Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam of the prosecution department confirmed the matter, saying: "There was no bail petition on behalf of the accused."
