Dhaka, April 24 -- Unidentified assailants have entered the house and hacked to death a SSC examinee in Dhamrai Municipality area in Dhaka, police say.

The incident took place in Lakuriapara Mohalla on Thursday evening, said Dhamrai Police Station chief Nazmul Huda.

The victim, Nahida Akhter, 16, was appearing for the SSC examination from the commerce department at Dhamrai Central School.

Her mother, Liza Akhter, is an expatriate, and her father, Nur Hossain, lives in Barisal. Nahida used to live with her grandmother in Dhamrai.

Citing locals, police said Nahida's grandmother went out to buy milk. When she returned home, she found Nahida lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The assailants entered the house and attacked her with shar...
