Dhaka, April 1 -- Six people, including a schoolboy, have been killed and five others injured in four road accidents on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Cumilla.
The crashes took place mostly due to reckless driving in Daudkandi, Nimsar, Chandina and Miah Bazar in the span of several hours since the early hours on Wednesday, say Highway Police.
Daudkandi Highway Police chief Md Iqbal Bahar said two people died after a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw collided head-on with an unidentified vehicle in the Upazila's Kanra soon after sunrise.
The victims are Barek, 42, and Mostafa, 40, both identified by single names and hailing from the Upazila.
They died on the spot. Four other people injured in the accident were rushed to local hospitals.
