Dhaka, Oct. 17 -- Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir has outlined a major overhaul of how trade licences are issued, aiming to make doing business easier in Bangladesh.

He wants unnecessary hurdles in running a business removed.

The minister, speaking at the Secretariat on Saturday, called for an end to delays and harassment over foreign workers' clearance renewals.

"At present, trade licences are issued under separate systems for union councils, municipalities and city corporations. An initiative has been taken to bring this process under one integrated online portal.
