Dhaka, April 2 -- Singer Mainul Ahsan Noble has been sent to jail after a Dhaka court scrapped his bail for reportedly violating the terms of compromise in a case filed for "embezzling Tk 1.3 million and attempting to film a young woman against her will".

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed gave the order on Thursday, said plaintiff's lawyer Nasidus Zaman.

Noble, who secured bail on Feb 24 a day after his arrest in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj, attended the hearing.

Accusing him of violating the bail terms, the plaintiff's lawyer pleaded for him to be sent to jail.

"After the hearing, the court cancelled his bail and ordered him to be sent to jail."
