Dhaka, Oct. 1 -- Remittance inflows to Bangladesh slowed in September, with expatriates sending home $2.77 billion -- the lowest monthly amount in 11 months.

The figure was still 3 percent higher than the $2.69 billion received in September last year, according to updated Bangladesh Bank data released on Thursday.

The slowdown marks a break from the record-setting pace seen earlier in the year.

Remittances had exceeded $3 billion a month for six consecutive months through May, before falling below that mark in June.

The latest figures show $2.82 billion came in June, followed by $2.86 billion in July and $2.97 billion in August.
