Dhaka, March 23 -- Police say the body of a school student has been found hanged at a home in the Posta area of Dhaka's Lalbagh.

The body of 17-year-old Farhan Rahman Jihad, a 10th grader at Ideal Model School and College, was found by his family hanged with a scarf from a ceiling fan at their home near Shahi Mosque around 7:30pm on Sunday.

Jihad was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead at 8:30pm, according to Inspector Md Faruk of the DMCH Police Outpost.

Citing Jihad's friends, his older brother Fahim Rahman Rudro said: "I heard from Jihad's friends that he was in a romantic relationship with a girl at school. They had gone out together in the afternoon.
