Dhaka, May 10 -- The Appellate Division has upheld the High Court's (HC) bail orders for former Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) mayor Selina Hayat Ivy in 10 separate cases, including on charges of murder.

A bench led by the chief justice dismissed the state's petitions challenging her bail on Sunday.

Following the order, Ivy's legal team said there are no further legal barriers to her release from prison.

Senior advocate Md Motahar Hossain Saju, representing Ivy, confirmed the development.

"The Appellate Division's decision means she can now be released," he said.
