Dhaka, March 15 -- The parliamentary procedure rules are central to how the Bangladesh National Parliament operates, governing everything from lawmakers' conduct to committee powers.

On the first day of the 13th parliament's opening session, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad emphasised their importance, calling the rules "a Bible" for every member, particularly new MPs.

He reminded members to follow seating protocols and respect the speaker's instructions.

Under Article 75 of the Constitution, parliamentary procedures are regulated by rules enacted by the House.
