Dhaka, April 7 -- Restoring the tarnished image of Bangladesh cricket will be the priority, newly appointed BCB chief Tamim Iqbal has said, outlining an urgent reform agenda upon taking charge.

Appointed by the National Sports Council (NSC) on Tuesday afternoon, Tamim arrived at the BCB office before evening, met officials across departments, and held brief discussions before convening the first meeting of the 11-member ad hoc committee.

Speaking after the meeting, Tamim set the tone: "Whenever someone takes this role, they talk about development. But for my team and me, our first task is to fix the image of Bangladesh cricket.

"The damage done over the past one to one-and-a-half years must be addressed first."
