Dhaka, June 10 -- A relief train that was attempting to rescue a derailed power car on a Brahmaputra Express train has also derailed in Mymensingh.

The relief train's carriage derailed around 10am on Wednesday in the outer signal area of Mymensingh Railway Station, said Mymensingh Railway Police Station chief Md Aktar Hossain.

Around 9:15am, the Brahmaputra Express train's power car had previously derailed near Tinkona Pukurpar of Mymensingh city on its way from Jamalpur to Dhaka.

This halted train service on the Mymensingh-Jamalpur route.

Officer Aktar said when the relief train reached the outer signal area of Mymensingh Railway Station on its way to rescue the power car, its wheel also derailed.
