Dhaka, Oct. 6 -- Rajshahi Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Jawadul Haque has allegedly been forced to sign a resignation letter after a group of people stormed his office.

Another university official was also allegedly forced to resign during the incident.

The group entered the campus around 11am on Tuesday under an "Apamor Chhatra-Janata" banner, according to Nazmul Hossain, the VC's personal secretary and a section officer.

Witnesses and those involved said the group identified themselves as Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal activists.

Police went to the campus after being alerted but found no one there, said Gaziur Rahman, deputy commissioner and spokesperson for Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
