Dhaka, June 10 -- Rail communication on the Mymensingh-Jamalpur route has resumed after a Brahmaputra Express power car derailment disrupted services for around three and a half hours.

The incident briefly halted train movement along the corridor before recovery operations cleared the line.

Services returned to normal shortly after 12:30pm on Wednesday when a rescue train recovered the derailed power car, said Palash Banerjee, a sub-inspector at Mymensingh Railway Police Station.

Earlier, around 9:15am, the Dhaka-bound Brahmaputra Express from Jamalpur reached the Tinkona Pukurpar of Mymensingh city when the wheels of its power car jumped the tracks with a loud bang.
