RAB arrests two accused of embezzling Tk 35mn by promising jobs abroad
Dhaka, May 12 -- The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two people accused of embezzling Tk 35 million by promising jobs in Australia, Italy, and other European countries with attractive salaries.
The arrestees are Nusrat Jahan, 28, and Md Sohan, 24.
According to a RAB statement, they were arrested in Dhaka's Mirpur on Monday.
RAB said the suspects opened an office under the name BFC Global Consultancy and promoted overseas job opportunities in several European countries through Facebook advertisements, offering lucrative salaries.
Quoting a case filed with Pallabi Police Station, the statement said the victims visited the office around six months ago to discuss opportunities for going abroad.
