Bangladesh, Aug. 12 -- Queen guitarist Sir Brian May says humanity does not need artificial intelligence (AI), while warning that the infrastructure being built to support the technology could come at a high cost to the UK.

The 79-year-old musician raised his concerns in an Instagram post after using Meta AI to recreate the cover of Queen's 1980 album The Game, The Independent reports.

May appeared unimpressed with the result and questioned whether AI represented the kind of intelligence that would eventually "rule the world", the British newspaper said.

He said the example had prompted him to seriously consider whether humanity needed AI, arguing that the cost of its development could be too high.
