Dhaka, May 18 -- Qatar has expressed its intent to recruit Bangladeshi workers for four technical sectors through five designated technical training centres (TTCs).

The decision came following the seventh Bangladesh-Qatar Joint Committee meeting held at the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment in Dhaka on Monday.

Qatari Labour Minister Ali bin Samikh Al Marri met with Expatriates' Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury to discuss expanding labour cooperation.

During the talks, the Qatari minister showed particular interest in hiring electricians, plumbers, air-conditioning technicians, and welders.
