Dhaka, Oct. 29 -- Garment workers have cleared the Mirpur-10 roundabout, but another group is blocking the road in front of Purabi Cinema Hall to demand a minimum monthly wage of Tk 30,000.

Hundreds of workers from several garment factories started the protest on Thursday by blocking a road at the Mirpur-10 roundabout around 9:30am.

Traffic in the area returned to normal when they cleared the area around 1pm.

However, a group of other protesters pushing for the same demands began conducting a demonstration in front of Purabi Cinema Hall near the Metro Rail Station No. 11 from 11:30am. Th programme has disrupted traffic on roads in Mirpur-12 and Kalshi, and creating severe traffic jams.
