Dhaka, June 2 -- The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of privately supplied liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for June, lowering the retail price of a 12kg cylinder by Tk 55 to Tk 1,885.

The new rates will take effect from 6pm on Tuesday, according to a BERC pricing notification.

The BERC said Saudi Aramco had set propane prices for June at $760 per tonne and butane prices at $820 per tonne.

Based on a 35:65 propane-butane mix, the average Saudi Contract Price (CP) stands at $799 per tonne.

The commission also considered shipping costs and trader premiums of $200 per metric tonne, along with an average exchange rate of Tk 122.81 per US dollar, in determining the revised prices.
