Bangladesh, Sept. 2 -- President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has visited Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital & Research Institute.

"At 9:30am, the president visited the ailing Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku. He stayed by his bedside for some time," Assistant Private Secretary to the President Md Yunus Ali said on Wednesday.

"The doctors have informed his excellency about the energy minister's physical condition. [Fakhrul] also spoke to the energy minister's son Abed Hassan Mahmood."

State Minister for Energy Aninda Islam Amit, Military Secretary to the President Maj Gen ASM Bahauddin, personal physician to the president Col AKM Faizul Haque, and Yunus were also present for the visit.
