Dhaka, May 1 -- The wife and eldest son of a former expatriate in Chattogram's Rangunia have confessed to his murder and the subsequent scrubbing of their home to destroy evidence following their arrest.

The suspects, identified as Rohima, 35, identified with a single name, and her 18-year-old son, Robiul Hasan Rakib, were apprehended in North Padua village early on Friday.

Following their arrest, the duo provided statements under Section 164 in court on Friday afternoon, admitting to the fatal assault on 40-year-old Alamgir, also identified with a single name.

Alamgir passed away at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Apr 28, a day after he was wounded at his residence.
