Bangladesh, July 23 -- A former local Chhatra Dal leader has been hacked to death in Bogura in an attack police believe stemmed from a longstanding personal feud.

The victim, Atikur Rahman Sagar Mondal, 26, a former convenor of the Shakharia Union unit of Chhatra Dal, was attacked about 2:30am at Sadar Upazila's Chalitabari, police said.

Police have taken a woman into custody for questioning in connection with the killing, said Inspector (Investigation) Mahfuz Alam of Bogura Sadar Police Station.

According to the victim's family, Sagar had been involved in a prolonged dispute with neighbours.
