Dhaka, June 30 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has said that around 1,500 cases over traffic violations been filed so far through surveillance by artificial intelligence (AI) cameras installed on roads across Dhaka to improve traffic management and reduce congestion.

He also revealed that at least 38,000 traffic summons remain pending, mainly due to complications such as changes in vehicle ownership, which have delayed the resolution of many cases.

The commissioner made these remarks on Tuesday while speaking to the media after inaugurating the AI camera-based traffic enforcement and vehicle monitoring system on Lake Road adjacent to the national parliament building and Zia Udyan.
