Dhaka, May 14 -- Police have arrested four people on suspicion of their involvement in the gang-rape of a ninth-grade schoolgirl and the sexual harassment of another student in Chattogram's Satkania Upazila.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in a hilly farm area at Sadhurnal under the Sadaha Union.

According to police, the victim and her companion, an eighth-grade student, were attacked while visiting the site.

The arrestees have been identified as Md Syed, 15, Md Rakib, 20, Manik Islam, 20, and Abdur Rahim, 18.

All four are labourers at a local farm and residents of Satkania Upazila.
