Dhaka, April 28 -- Police have arrested a man for allegedly strangling his 3-year-old child to death in Dhaka's Badda.

The child has been identified as Habib and the father as Md Shaheen. The incident occurred on Monday night at Beraid Rishipara in Badda.

Sub Inspector (SI) Jamal Hossain said that the child's body was recovered from Zulhas Mia's rented house in Rishipara around 11:15pm on Monday night. Neighbours learnt that the child's father was a drug addict and there was constant domestic conflict over poverty. On Monday night, during a fight, the child was strangled to death by his drug-addict father.
