Dhaka, March 18 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is engaged in urgent government work from his Gulshan residence amid the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

He is also receiving updates from different city corporations across the country, says Atiqur Rahman Ruman, the additional press secretary to the prime minister.

"The Eid public holidays have begun," he said. "The honourable prime minister is at his home on Gulshan Avenue. He is completing his urgent government work there. He is also keeping up to date with what is going on."
