Dhaka, April 27 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has warned that the same forces that attempted to mislead the nation during the 1971 Liberation War and subsequent political crises are once again spreading confusion.

Addressing a public rally at the Jashore Central Eidgah Maidan on Monday afternoon, the BNP chairman promised that his government would thoroughly pass the "July Charter" -- a roadmap for state reform -- in parliament to fulfill the mandate received in the Feb 12 elections.

"We must be vigilant against those who want to spread confusion," Tarique told the crowd.

"Those who tried to mislead people during the 1971 Independence War, in 1986, and in 2009, are the same individuals attempting to do so again today."
