Dhaka, May 3 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged deputy commissioners to be proactive in implementing the government's promises to the people.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Deputy Commissioners' Conference on Sunday, he said: "It is very important to implement projects within the stipulated time. Maintaining maximum transparency in expenditure is one of the most important issues. At the same time, ensuring the quality of work is an important responsibility of the administrative officials concerned."
