Dhaka, April 12 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called for the development of a "disciplined, modern and corruption-free" armed forces, urging military personnel to strictly adhere to constitutional duties while strengthening professionalism, coordination and strategic capability.
Speaking at a Darbar session at Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday, the premier instructed members of the armed forces to refrain from negligence of duty and abuse of authority.
It was his first address at such a military gathering since assuming office.
He emphasised that dedication to the constitution, oath, discipline and command structure must remain absolute.
