Dhaka, March 5 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reduced the use of lights and air-conditioners at his office room in the Secretariat in the interest of saving power.
He has also urged all ministries and other organisations to be economical in their consumption of power.
Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon said the prime minister took these steps after arriving at his office at the Secretariat on Thursday morning.
"He came to his office at 9:10am and immediately switched off 50 percent of the lights in his room and set the air-conditioner temperature to 25.1 degrees, which reduces electricity consumption," Rumon said.
