Dhaka, March 5 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has ordered the opening of language training centres across the country to prepare youths for the global job market.

The directive was issued on Thursday during a meeting of the Committee on Overseas Employment and Expatriate Welfare at the Secretariat, according to Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon.

"The prime minister has instructed the relevant ministries to take immediate steps to prepare unemployed youth for overseas employment," Atiqur said.

"He called for opening language centres staffed by both local and foreign instructors so that young people can learn various languages and secure jobs abroad."
