Dhaka, March 14 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has met the newly appointed administrators of five city corporations shortly after they took charge of the urban local bodies.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office in the parliament building on Saturday afternoon, said Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon.
State Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Mir Shahe Alam was also present.
Earlier in the day, the local government ministry appointed BNP leaders as administrators for Barishal, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Cumilla.
The order stated they would serve until the corporations are formally reconstituted or until further notice.
