Dhaka, May 2 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on young students to prepare themselves for the future through education, sports and cultural activities.

Speaking at the "Notun Kuri Sports 2026" programme at Sylhet Stadium on Saturday afternoon, he emphasised building a generation capable of leading Bangladesh in the years ahead.

Addressing the children present at the event as "guests of honour", the prime minister did not deliver his scripted speech.

"You are the future of Bangladesh. From among you will emerge international-standard athletes, doctors, lawyers, engineers and future leaders," he said.

Tarique encouraged students to pursue their interests alongside studies.
