Dhaka, Sept. 27 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has returned to Bangladesh after attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

He arrived at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:20am on Sunday, according to his Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu.

An Emirates flight carrying the prime minister and his entourage left John F Kennedy International Airport around 11:30pm local time on Friday.

The flight reached Dubai International Airport around 8:30pm local time, where it made a six-hour stopover before leaving for Dhaka after 2am, Shiplu said.

Tarique's delegation had arrived in New York on Sept 21 to attend the General Assembly session.
