PM orders MP Mishti to resign over Radda attack
Dhaka, Oct. 1 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has ordered BNP reserved-seat MP Ferdousy Ahmed Mishti to resign amid controversy over the attack on the Radda MCH-FP Centre and an alleged attempt to take control of the healthcare facility in Dhaka's Mirpur.
Tarique's Press Secretary Abu Abdullah M Saleh confirmed the development to bdnews24.com on Thursday afternoon.
A high-level government source told bdnews24.com that Mishti had been instructed to step down as an MP by Sunday.
Several attempts were made to contact Mishti for comment, but she did not answer her phone.
Asked whether she had submitted her resignation, the Speaker's office said it had yet to receive a resignation letter or any official communication on the matter.
